Nemesis - Horus Heresy novel

As per usual I tend to read books pretty often and get sucked into novels, I started reading this book, Nemesis a day or two ago and am currently about halfway through. It is set in the Warhammer 40k universe and is the latest installment to the Horus Heresy novels (a collection of books detailing the most dramatic event in Warhammer 40k history set 10,000 years in the past). What I have found interesting in the book, as well as it being a good read is that it is based on a group of assassins that are gathered from the 6 different disciplines contained within that universe. These are as follows;

  • Vindicare Temple - sharpshooters, specialists in sniping and marksmanship.

  • Callidus Temple - chameleons, specialists in infiltration and impersonation.

  • Eversor Temple - berserkers, unsubtle drug-fueled killing machines.

  • Culexus Temple - Pariahs, psykers are their exclusive targets.

  • Venenum Temple - specialists in poisoning their targets.

  • Vanus Temple - intelligence-gatherers, in matters of strategy and tactics their insight is unparalleled. They often assassinate their targets indirectly using their intelligence and knowledge to bring down targets.

  • I found such information useful as my comic's main character happens to be an assassin and this has given me a pretty good insight to the views of such a character, perhaps I could open up the story and allow different directions and decisions that could tie in with the different specialities above, allowing multiple ways to perfrom their mission.
